Crossfire: Counter Strike Style Action

Introduction

A game by Z8 game comes by a first person shooter game with a counter strike feel to it. Since the release of Counter Strike, many games has used the source. I still think that this game, despite being a clone has many other unique types of gameplay. The types of gameplay are very typical of many shooters nowadays like:

- Team Deathmatch
- Free For All
- Search and destroy
There are others which Cross Fire has made their own.
- Ghost Mode
- Mutation Mode ( My Favourite)
- Elimination

Gameplay In-Depth

As you can see from the list, there are many typical ones, but many other types. This is why I prefer Cross Fire to most games as they put their own style. Ghost mode is like you're either the hunted or being hunted but both sides have their pros and cons. If you are the ghost, it's pretty simple, you kill all the soldiers and prevent the bomb from being detonated but if you are the soldiers, you do the opposite. Being the "Ghost" means you are invisible and only have a melee weapon. Mutation mode is like Halo 3 infection as you can infect others. The mutants objective is to mutate the soldiers but if you are the soldiers, you have to hold out for as long as you can but you can still try and kill them as are not invincible. Elimination is actually quite unique as there is almost every weapon spawned and your objective is kill with the weapons spawned but be warned there are no respawns. All gameplays can still be modified as you can change what weapons to use.

The Two Sides

The story line goes as there are two sides in conflict with each other. One is the "Black List" which is made of mercenaries fighting for capitalism. Most members are foreign and will use any means necessary to kill any ine who gets in their way. Their origin is still unknown as they are known world wide. The other is "Global Risk" made up of fully trained secret operations soldiers. Not known over a national scale makes them are hard to find. The objective is to rid the world of "Freedom Fighters" (Black List) and keep fighting for democracy and keep their economic wealth.

Graphics

The graphics are well made, as they tried going for a larger audience. The graohics isn't too much to talk about but I guess, they want more people with low spec PC's to play and not get left out. The settings menu can be customised a lot as, the amount of choices of cross hairs can improve accuracy, other configurations can be altered like resolution and effects which makes the frame rate improve a lot. So all of the optimisations are good for high spec and low spec computers.

Conclusion

Graphics: 7/10
Story Line: 6/10
